Mangawhai Golf Club
Situated near the coast in the holiday hamlet of Mangawhai , the course was originally designed in 1979 by Harry Dale a designer of over 60 courses. Meticulously maintained the course is a demanding mixture of wide and narrow fairways, undulating greens landscaped in a picturesque setting surrounded by native bush and wetlands that attract a wide range of bird life.
Developed on a sandy base, weather does not affect Mangawhai even during the wettest winters due to its excellent drainage qualities. This is a magnificent course in both winter and summer. The Club has a fully equipped Golf Shop offering a wide range of hire and new equipment. A fleet of Yamaha electric carts is available. The Clubhouse sits above the course providing a spectacular outlook along with Bar & Café facilities.

The Mangawhai Tavern
The historic Mangawhai Tavern is adjacent to the old port where the ships were loaded with the Kauri milled from the bush. The tavern has a colourful history as a watering hole for the kauri bushmen and port workers and each year it provides a stunning harbourside venue as the community celebrate Mangawhai's rich heritage.
This is a great place to watch the rugby or listen to live music in the weekends - many of NZ's best musicians play here during the summer months.
